Happy Unofficial Start to Summer!

And happy Memorial Day to all those, like my little bro Sean, who went in deep. Here's to not sending him back and bringing the rest of our guys home!

I took a ton of photos this weekend. I have the red carpet for LXM Pro Lacrosse with Lo Bosworth and a big ol' family reunion (not my family...) Maybe I'll get a few shots in at the pool today... A li'l who's who at the pool (unless bikini bodies aren't ready. Ha!)

Anyhoo, You'll see all of that tomorrow. Today I have artist Eli Halpin to photograph for an up-coming portrait/interview sesh, a little time in the garden, and a lot of laying out by the pool!
Happy summer,

After my opening we made a pit stop @ Club Charles before heading to VBS/Brigette's b-day bash. People were cute. Some guys had a cookie eating contest and threw up... that's about it.

Coming up this week on Fitzbomb... I'm about to post another set from the Thursday night festivities, I'll have the Rabbit family grad party, one or two new portraits, the Wild Style Reunion 2010, and some red carpet stuff for the east coast launch of the LXM Pro Lacrosse Music Tour w/ Lauren "Lo" Bosworth, Stephanie Pratt, pro lax player (and Lo's bf) Scott Horchstadt, Amber Lancaster and Kate Voegele.

See you soon (like in 20 minutes),

Last night was the opening reception for the new drawings in my series, Baltimore Portrait. So much fun. I'm pretty, um, wiped out today, so Ima keep this brief. We did a couple hours at the gallery and then headed to Club Charles and the Otto Bar (Vincent Black Shadow and Brigette's b-day.) Of course, I have photos of all of this, but you may have to wait...

In other news, I'm not sure all of the details yet, but I think I'm going to be photographing the east coast launch of the LXM PRO Lacrosse Music Tour with guests including Stephanie Pratt, Lo Bosworth, pro lax players and Amber Lancaster (one of the promoters saw my photos with Holly Montag and asked if I'd like to come to the party and take some pics.) That will be part of the haps for next weekend. I'll keep you posted.

Talk to you soon. And thanks for all of the love last night. Muah!

Check Out My Interview On The Baltimore Chop!

Baltimore Portrait: New Drawings by Erin Fitzpatrick @ UB Tonight

(Excerpt from The Chop)

If there’s one activity that Baltimore likes to engage in collectively, it’s looking at itself in the proverbial mirror. It’s part of the reason we love the films of John Waters so much. It’s why we think The Wire was such a wonderful show, and it’s even why we went to go see Naked Baltimore when it opened at the Metro Gallery.

This ongoing game of monkey in the mirror is also part of the reason we’re so excited about the opening of Erin Fitzpatrick‘s Baltimore Portrait series at the University of Baltimore’s Student Center tonight.

Baltimore Portrait opens at the University of Baltimore Student Center tonight. 7-9 pm (Show is on 5th floor, not 3rd).

The current installation of the Baltimore Portrait series includes 20 new local faces, selected from a total of 75 and counting, with more than half of the series completed recently. Portraits from the series have been on display since November ’09, most recently at the Theater Project’s John Fonda Gallery.

But don’t take our word for it. Erin was kind enough to answer a few quick questions for us in advance of tonight’s show. It’s the first time this blog has undertaken to do an interview, and we couldn’t be happier about it. Let’s begin, shall we?

The Baltimore Chop:

Your portrait series focuses on a collection of people from a specific place. What connections or effects have you observed between people and the places they live and vice versa?

Erin Fitzpatrick:

"So far, almost all of my subjects have been Baltimore-based. Some have transplanted, but they are all people who I met here. I have plans to start some new pieces based on subjects in L.A. this summer. Maybe then I’ll be able to get a better perspective on how the portraits differ with location.

For me, working within the parameter of a certain city is about meeting, and capturing on paper or canvas, all of the interesting people that live within that area. It’s like visual networking
.”
